Discernment

Warning: Long fear shame rant.

As Christians, can we just stop claiming everyone has a spirit of fear if that person feels “OFF” or negatively “AWARE” of something and we don’t?

Next time you want to spank someone for “fear” why don’t you first stop the judgment and offer to pray to see what God is saying about the situation?

At times, I have been accused of having a spirit of fear, meaning I was being paranoid about nothing. The person I was speaking to wasn’t on the same channel as me. Then later I found out I was right. It truly was something or SOMEONE that I needed to stop, drop, avoid or take spiritual authority over.

30 years ago when I was an atheist, I frequented a Burger King by my apartment. I kept telling people there was something off about the guy at the drive-thru window. One late night, as I handed him my money, I locked eyes with him and we both jumped! I some how knew he was evil, and he knew he was busted!

2 days later, on a local news channel, they showed him being arrested at his job for murdering his girlfriend and disposing of her body several months earlier. God was even showing me back then what was up.

Fast forward 5 years ago, I was the last person to leave work and was locking up when a man walked into the building with his 5-year-old daughter looking for a catalog of our products. He told me he was in the area and wanted to add some of our products to his very successful internet store. I got creeped out even though he was with his daughter and told him to come back in the morning.

I told some friends later that I felt like he was lying and they were like Jeanne! He came in with a kid! Yes, and Ted Bundy was an attractive man with a fake cast on his arm. Not everything is as it appears to be.

Several days later, he was on the local news as the police were looking for him. He was from New York and was running some local scam listing and selling products from high-end manufacturers that he never shipped.

God has given us our emotions for a reason. Sometimes the fear or “heightened awareness” you feel is truly from God and warranted, even if other people don’t agree with you.

Or the fear is a warning.
Or a time for discernment.
Or maybe it’s false and trying to stop you from what God has planned for you.

But…FEAR is always a reason to stop, discern, and take action. Even if that action is to send the false fear away.

Ask God for discernment and what YOU should do next. Just because another person doesn’t agree with you doesn’t mean God isn’t speaking directly to YOU about the situation.

Several times in the last month I have MISSED it, because I let others talk me out of what I was picking up. MISSED IT!!!!!!

Don’t ignore your Spiritual Spidey Sense

Sometimes it isn’t FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL.

Fear shame rant over peeps!

Happy Mother’s Day, Mama Bears!

Hear Something…

Sometimes we get a word for someone we are going to for help. Help for a fee. Doctor, Lawyer, Dentist, Therapist, Tax guy….you get it. Not that these people are above us, but it just feels awkward. This isn’t a barter club. Hey, if you do my taxes, I will tell you about your future. Seems a bit unprofessional and woo-woo.

But I get it all the time. Maybe you do too. If it truly is from God, it will come out easily, and you will see or feel a lightbulb go off when they receive it.

Today, I had an appointment, and the tech was bustling around the room as God was downloading to me. “Tell her” “God, she looks like she is in a hurry.” “Tell her anyway.” Why do I even argue?

“Do you know what a word of knowledge is?” “No.” “It’s a Christian term when God gives you some information about someone or something that you don’t have prior knowledge about.” If WOK is not in their vocabulary, they are usually WTH……1,2,3 it’s deer in headlights, and then they are stuck like a fly on an adhesive strip. Holy Spirit style.

“God tells me you are a good mom. You are very strict and love your kids very much. You are like a momma bear with them.” Susie laughs and relaxes. “Yes, you sure got that one right on. I am VERY strict.” Her boss, the doctor, replaces her, and before he can leave the room God prompts me again.

” I know you are a Christian. Do you know what a word of knowledge is?”

“No.” I give him the same simple explanation and tell him, ” God tells me he has surrounded you with very smart and efficient staff. They have got your back. There is no backstabbing or sabotage. They are loyal to you and will always be there for you.

His mouth dropped open, and then he smiled “Thank you so much for telling me this. That is so encouraging. Really. Thank you.”

It is so much easier when you just repeat what you hear, relay it when He tells you to and then get out of the way. You don’t need to know why He wants them to hear these words. Could be for now. Could be for later. Could be for a variety of reasons you really don’t need to be privy to.

No matter who someone is or the title they hold….they were created by God and special to Him. He has imprinted their hearts with the desire to hear His voice and be known by Him.

Hear something….say something.

Let’s give them something to talk about after you leave 🙂

Chatty Daddy

Over 12 years ago, I had just left the catholic church, and at every event I went to, someone would prophesy over me,” You are very prophetic; God wants to use you as a mouthpiece.” I got to the point that when someone told me they had a word for me, I would say, “No, that’s ok.” Why? I didn’t want the pressure or responsibility, and my earlier new-age experience with psychics made me question the validity. I had also known several people who used “God told me that….” to release their own un-godly opinions on others. If it wasn’t from God, I didn’t want it. Besides, I did not want to fail or be wrong. I also had some ego in the game.

I also knew people that were into healing but called “words” the pathetic prophetic. Most prophecy or WOK wasn’t from God but rather a “familiar spirit.” The last thing I wanted to do was offend the Holy Spirit or have demons speak thru me. It was just safer to leave that stuff alone. As much as I didn’t want to say what I heard from God, the words flew out of my mouth. I didn’t feel special; I felt uncomfortable, awkward, and sometimes crazy. But as I spoke about what God was showing me, I saw hearts open and lives changed. As Godfrey Birtill sings, “Just one touch from the King changes everything.”

Now I don’t care. I don’t force it, and if I get something, I do. Please stop trying to discourage yourself or others from sharing what they believe they hear from God. We all hear from Big Sky Daddy. All of us. Ever say or think something and think, “Wow, that was brilliant! Where did that come from?” It was probably from the Holy Spirit. 🙂

Jeremiah 33:3. What’s God saying to you today?
